Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), founded in 1896, is one of the oldest institutions of higher education China. In its proud legacy of 122 years, the University has been dedicated to Chinese higher education and has proudly nurtured generations of engineering and scientific leaders. As the most comprehensive leading research university in transportation, SWJTU is world-renown for pioneering the Chinese railway transportation engineering and industry, and for its leading contributions to the development of Chinese high-speed rail system. For its sustained excellence and prominence, the University is not only participate in the country’s construction plan of world-class universities and first-class disciplines, but also being placed among the key, elite multidisciplinary “211” ,“985” and “2011 project ( Rail transportation project superior discipline innovation platform) ” Tier-1 universities equipped with graduate schools which is directly administered by the Chinese Ministry of Education. We offer comprehensive education and research programs in 26 faculties and institutes/centers, covering diverse disciplines in engineering, sciences, arts, and management leading from undergraduate to doctoral degrees. The University owns 19 doctoral, 39 master, 75 undergraduate programs and 11 post-doctoral stations among the established 26 schools. Relying on its advantages and traditional disciplines, the university has set up 12 state-level science and technology innovation platforms and 36 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research bases, including the National Laboratory of Rail Transit (in process) and Traction Power State Key Laboratory. Thus, SWJTU has built the most complete discipline system, talent system and scientific research system in the world of rail transit.

(1)Leading Talents

National " Thousand Talents Plan" innovative talents project winners, winners of the National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund, "Changjiang Scholars Award Program" distinguished professors, "ten thousand people plan" leading talents (technical innovation, philosophy and social sciences, teaching teachers, etc.), Ma The chief engineering expert and scholars, the major participants who are awarded of second place prize and above of National Natural Science Award, National Technological Invention Award, National Science and Technology Progress Award and scholars at the same level who have considerable academic level and academic contributions and have been recognised by the university (candidates should be no more 55 years old generally).

(2)Outstanding Talents

The winners of the national "Thousand Talents Plan" youth project, the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, the Young Scholars Program of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program", and the top talents for the "Millions Plan" young talents, as well as young scholars at the same level who have considerable academic level and academic contributions and have been recognised by the university.

Remunerationand Living Benefits

1. Annual Salary: 900,000 yuan basic salary for “Thousand Talents Plan” talents (bonus provided ) ; basic salary for other talents are 550,000-800,000 yuan (bonus provided )

2. Housing and settlement fee (one-time only): Provide a home-buying fee for purchasing 160-180 square meters of housing near the university, or provide a discounted price to buy a set of university housing and home placement of 1,000,000-1,500,000 yuan (one-time)

3. Help with the employment of the spouse and the children's entrance into kindergarten and school.

Work Benefits

Thousand Talents Plan

1. The National “Thousand Talents Plan” innovation long-term project winner will receive 1,000,000 yuan (one-time) upon approval.

2. Relying on university’s declaration of the National “Thousand Talents Plan” youth project, the candidate will receive 500,000 yuan (one-time).

Changjiang Scholar Award Project

1. Relying on university’s declaration of the “Changjiang Scholars” award project, the professor could obtain 200,000 yuan/year for 5 years once elected.

2. Relying on university’s declaration of the “Changjiang Scholars” youth project, the professor could obtain 100,000 yuan/year for 3 years once elected.

Provincial and Municipal Project Support

1. The National “Thousand Talents Plan” innovation long-term project winner will receive 500,000 yuan (one-time) upon approval

2. The National “Thousand Talents Plan” youth project winner will receive 500,000 yuan (one-time) upon approval

3. In accordance with the conditions prior to applying "thousand talents of plans" Sichuan Province, the professor will receive 500,000 yuan (one-time) upon approval
